EAST AFRICAN ASSOCIATION FOR PALEOANTHROPOLOGY AND PALEONTOLOGY (EAAPP) SEVENTH BIENNIAL CONFERENCE
AUGUST 1ST – 4TH, 2019
On behalf of the EAAPP Secretariat we wish to announce the upcoming seventh EAAPP conference in Nairobi, Kenya from August 1st-4th 2019. The aim of this conference is to bring East African, other African, and international researchers, scientists, museum curators, and cultural resources managers together in a forum to present current research findings, exchange scientific information and discuss current research development, museum ethics, policy, and practice.
All conference events will take place at the Nairobi National Museum, Museum Hill Road, Nairobi, Kenya.
Conference registration fees (see below) include a conference reception on Aug 1, two tea breaks and lunch per day Aug 2-4, and one conference dinner (details TBD).

Thursday August 1

2:00-4:00pm: Taphonomy Workshop, led by Dr. Job Kibii (National Museums of Kenya), Dr. Kay Behrensmeyer (Smithsonian Institution), & Dr. Briana Pobiner (Smithsonian Institution). EAAPP is organizing a single post-conference excursion on August 5 which will visit two prehistoric sites: Kandis (with a tour by Dr. Emma Mbua) and Olorgesailie (with a tour by Dr. Rick Potts). [Updated information coming soon]
For poster presenters, the poster size is limited to no more than 3’10” or 116 cm in horizontal dimension, and no more than 4’0″ and 120 cm vertical dimension. Thumbtacks etc. to put up your posters will be provided.
If you are a student, from an African country, or otherwise do not have access to funds to print a poster, please email Dr. Briana Pobiner (EAAPP Secretary) by June 1 to arrange to have your poster printed and transported to the conference.

–Registration is only payable onsite at the conference. US Dollars, Euros, and Kenya shillings will all be accepted.
